Photoshop dialog box for layer styles is too narrow to use?
I’ve reloaded the software: no help. Worked correctly before today.
Windows, CS4. No, the cursor will not change the size of the box. It is only as wide as the "X" box to close the window is wide.
Thanks for the effort. It turned out I had a virus that was effecting other programs interfaces in random ways. Cleared the virus–not easy–and the Photoshop dialog box problem resolved itself.
It can be easily stretched by hovering the cursor over the border and dragging. If not try closing the window and pressing F7.
PC or Mac?
Okay, I think your best option is to uninstall and reinstall.

Are there any free lessons for Photoshop, InDesign and Power point available in the NY area?.?
If not, what’s the most economical way to do it?
You can find many free lessons right on the web. I would suggest checking out Youtube because you can see what is happening while it is being explained. I have created a number of tutorials that may be helpful to you. If you are interested check out the included links.

How can I get a font installed in Photoshop?
I am using windows vista, office 2007 and Adobo Photoshop CS3. I need to use the Arial Black font in Photoshop but cannot seem to get it installed. It is available in all my other programs. Any ideas?
Yes this is very strange…Arial Black is part of standard Windows (since Win2K) and it seems to wrk fine in my Photoshop CS3…
TO reinstall it (granted it is already installed on your computer) is to put the "TTF" file inside the C:\Windows\Fonts directory…i dont have Vista and its possible the folder is different but likely its the same.
If you installed Arial Black manually recently then close down and restart PS and see if it appears in the Font list now…
Its possible that CS3 may have a Vista bug since it might not be fully compatible as yet…Do a application system update to see if there are available service packs for your PS.
How do i open something from microsoft word in photoshop? The font wont show up?
I made something in word doc using a new font i just downloaded, and when i go to try to open it in photoshop (so that i can save it as an image to upload online), it wants me to create its size, and when i do all that its blank. what am i doing wrong?
Word documents are not images. Photoshop is an image editor — apples and oranges here.
If you want an image of a Word document, then either print the Word document to PDF (built in capability on a Mac – File Print PDF Save — or get CutePDF for Windows, install it, and then choose CutePDF as your ‘printer’) This saves the PDF to your drive. Then open the PDF document with Photoshop and it will convert it to a raster image,
or
In Windows take a screen shot of the document when you have it open in Word (Alt -PrtScr on Windows), which copies it to the clipboard. Open a new Photoshop document, and then Paste the screen shot into the Photoshop document.
If you simply want a few words in that font saved as an image, it may be just as easy to type them into Photoshop with the Text tool. The font should be available to all programs running on your machine if it was installed properly.

A question from a beginner in photoshop?
I see these plug ins for photo shop for textures and a program called light…something, how do you use them, add them for a project? The second question does anyone know of cool plug ins for photoshop? I am really interested in the light…plug in I can’t recall the name.. lightroom..something does anyone know what I am talking about and what is it used for. Sorry one more question…I see tutorials for photoshop 7 and photoshop cs…I have cs2 could I still use these tutorials to learn or has cs 2 changed so much? Thanks everybody
OK, lots of questions but I like to see that you are curious…
Question 1: The program you are talking about is Photoshop Lightroom, or it could be LightWave, they both do different things… LightWave is a plug in, and Lightroom is an actual program you can use for 3D animation. I assume you mean Lightroom. To add LightWave to your system or photoshop, you’d have to double click the icon once you download it from the internet, and your computer will install it for you. If that doesn’t work (it means the program doesn’t come with an automatic installer) then the website you downloaded it from should have directions on how to install it manually.
Question 2: Cool plugins for photoshop? Right here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/photoshop/
AND: What is Lightroom? Lightroom is basically a tool for professional photographers, and those who take a lot of photos. What they can do with Lightroom is such things like adjust, fix, and present large quantities of photographs at a time with minimal time spent at the computer. If you are a photographer, you don’t want to spend huge amounts of time preparing and adjusting one photo at a time, and saving it just so you can burn a CD and give them to your client. It can take ALOT of time if you take 1,000 photos for say, a wedding.
Question 3: Which tutorials? Stick to CS or CS2 tutorials. DON’T USE PHOTOSHOP 7 TUTORIALS. The features and menus are too different and old, you’ll get pretty frustrated. Don’t use CS3 tutorials either, you’ll pull your hair out when you see how much has changed.
When you use tutorials for different versions, you’ll notice that menu options change and you’ll have to click on different areas to get to certain places that weren’t in that particular place in the past versions.
How do I create a .gif animated image using photo shop cs4?
I have Adobe Photo Shop cs4 extended and I have a .mov file and I’m trying to take a portion of that video file and convert it to an animated .gif file. I’m watching a tutorial video on how to do it, but they’re using Adobe Imageready 7.0 and it’s too different for me to understand. Is there a simple way to do it?
Check this video, i used it, and is very easy to…
