theres this font that ppl use alot on their photos and i dont know what its called. its a girly font and it looks sooo cool. can anyone plz tell me what its called?

I am editing some scans in Photoshop. I was told to use Mighty Zeo font, and to make sure the type was in 9 pixels, not point. (She very specifically said not point…). However I cannot find the option anywhere to change the font by pixel size.
And when I enter nine pixels as the size in the font box.. It’s Tiny, so I’m not sure that’s what I need to do.

Any advice?

I’ve never seen any way to work with a font in pixels – just points.

Maybe you made a typo, but you said you could enter pixels. Did you mean you entered 9 points, not pixels?

Anyhow, it sounds like a really odd request. But you could create the text, set your Info palette to show dimensions in pixels and scale the text until it shows it is 9 pixels high.

9 pixels would probably be even tinier than 9 point type, depending on the size of the image.

Perhaps something is messed up in the instructions or there are some more details you need to share here to make sense of this.

I have this logo that is written in a font that is unknown to me. I wanna use this exact font to write a word underneath it..is there anyway in photoshop to do that?

Photoshop can’t do it by itself, but there are ways to identify the font in the logo.

http://www.whatthefont.com will let you upload the image of the logo, and identify what font it’s written in.

If that doesn’t work, you can also try http://www.identifont.com/, which will ask you a series of questions about how the font looks, and make it’s best guess based on your answers.

Bear in mind though, that some logos – especially those for big corporations – are hand-designed, and not created from any particular font.

I’ve seen instructional videos but those are on Photoshop CS3. Photoshop CS4 doesn’t have Arial Black and I can’t find the kerning feature. Please help. I also have MS Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.

Photoshop cs-cs4 are fairly the same in terms of panel layouts. The kerning is in the [character] panel – from the top menu go to [windows] and check character

in the character panel click on the font selection and choose Arial from the list, then to the right press on the regular and choose black from the list (the Arial font family comes preinstalled in all microsoft and mac systems – unless you deleted it in which case you’ll have to copy the font from another computer)

just below the black selection you’ll see AA and AV, type in -100 in the AV space

Now type your message in Photoshop.

Avatar font, I am always on the lookout for Ideas for tutorials on any Adobe application. I came across this advertisement on you tube advertising the release of the film Avatar on December 18. So off I went into Photoshop in an attempt to recreate the font style.

is it illegal to use a font from photoshop of microsoft word for my website, i am new to this

If you use it as part of an image (pre-made or on-the fly), no, not illegal.

If you upload the font to your website in order for people to *download it*… yes, because fonts are protected by copyright and licensing, just like software, music and video.

Ok, so all of the sudden my text is so small i cant even see it and no matter how big i make the font, it is stull very tiny. I have no idea how this happened. If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know.

Many possibilities. If one of these doesn’t do it, I have more ideas for you…

1) This is a popular culprit – you could have your image resolution set so stinking low you just can’t see the text! Go to the Image pulldown menu –> Image Size and see what the resolution is set for. If it’s something like 5, that’s definitely your problem. You need to reset the resolution, but before you do, unclick the box that says resample image so that you don’t resize the picture. Set it to at least 72 pixels per inch. Photoshop will then rescale the type so it looks the same as it did before, so you will need to go and set the type size for a normal size.

2) Try this: select the type layer, go into the flyout menu at the top of the Character Palette and select Reset Character. If that doesn’t do it, do the same thing in the Paragraph Palette with Reset Paragraph in the flyout menu.

3) If those don’t work, this should – try resetting your preferences. (These are PC instructions, I can’t remember how to do it on a Mac, but you could look in help)…
Quit Photoshop. Relaunch it and immediately hold down the alt + ctrl + shift keys until a dialog box opens that asks if you want to delete your preferences (or settings, or something). Hit okay. See if that fixes it.

I am putting some text on a picture but the text is too big, how do i make it smaller?

Hi,

It appears your Tool Options is not displayed. From the menu bar, select Window > Options. This will bring up the Tool Options bar, using which you can edit your text, such as making it bold, resizing it etc.

Alternatively, you could use the Move Tool. This tool is a little black arrow with a cross under it. Bring the tool towards the little white box that is surrounding your text and drag to re size the text.
