Photoshop Tutorials: Dodge tool and more color corrections 2

Second of two parts. First part located here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=gXYjkoy4vsg

There are two issues with this video everyone should be aware of:

First, my screencasting software glitched and recorded my cursor as Vista’s busy cursor, so you won’t be able to see some of the actual cursors I’m using.

Second, I reference a book that I never actually mentioned in the video, so you’ll probably wonder what I’m talking about. More info on the book here:

http://www.peachpit.com/store/product.aspx?isbn=0321124014

My fifth Photoshop CS3 tutorial. In this video, I’ll show you some more precise color correction methods and explain a little bit about the dodge, burn and sponge tools.

Those of you who already know your way around Photoshop should probably not waste your time watching this video. It’s meant for beginners.

Concepts covered: color corrections, dodge tool, burn tool, sponge tool

4-4 – Photoshop Lessons – Jessica Alba as Navi

For more free video tutorials
http://www.ipaintgirls.com

I teach how you change a photo of a person into a Na’vi from Avatar, in this case, Jessica Alba. Hey, let me know what you think.

The reason why I chose to do another Navi tutorial is because so many people complained about the Angelina Jolie one. The eyes on Jessica Alba looked a little dopey, so I end up changing them at the very end of part 4, so be sure to watch this to the end.

Best sites or books for tutorials and lessons on Photoshop digital illustration and colouring techniques?

I’ve used photoshop for a while but the only way I can colour is using the brush tool and smudging and blending the colours in. This is getting a bit boring and I want some better techniques to paint or colour my pictures in Photoshop.

In a way, I’d rather have a book or dvd to go by rather than online tutorials, and all I can find is on photo manipulation.

This is the best tutorial site I’ve found, lots of basics

What kinds of YouTube tutorials would people like to see?

I’m venturing into the Tutorial side of YouTube now, after many months of watching. I’ve got a pretty good idea of how to do them, but just need an idea of what to do it on so I can practice! ^^ I’d be willing to do anything from nails, makeup, hair to Photoshop, Illustrator to Mandarin Chinese lessons.

So what kind of things would you like to see?

I’m also open to (sensible :P ) suggestions! ^^

I dont know about some people.. but i am fascinated by languages and culture. Make an account dedicated to mandarin lessons and im sure to subscribe :)
Let me know how your going if you do decide to make videos. :D
Merry christmas and all the best :D :D

Can someone please give me a photoshop lesson link to do effects like this?

does anyone have an expired photoshop cs4 serial number?

i know theres alot of people out there that wanna have cs4 for free. i dont like that. i wanna teach them a lesson to stop trying to cheat adobe out of money…. so please, help catch these thieves by sending me expired serial numbers. i know that once they have an expired code, theres is no way to remove it unless they buy the program. i wanna screw them over

What a great idea!! Let’s catch the "thieves" who doesn’t have 700$ for PS and make them buy it in order for adobe to gain 700$ and feed its poor employees. This is not "teach them a lesson" man, this is "you have no idea of the real world and who needs a lesson".

Filter > Sketch in photoshop is not active ?

okay , i was just trying to apply some tutorial lessons and when I was asked to do the following :
go to Filter > Sketch > Chrome and use default settings of 4 and 7 for detail and smoothness respectively.

i clicked on Filter and then when I went to click on Sketch I found it in a gray color not active , i couldn’t use it ..

what seems to be the problem ?

Maybe you didn’t select a proper layer, like say, you selected a Text layer. Otherwise maybe the filter is not installed. Google for it in that case.
