im having trouble with photoshop, im just a beginner and taking lesson/tutorials in the web, and i tried to copy this that said open the image and paste the image to a new plain layer in the other document… but everytime i paste the picture, i comes out small, but the original picture is big. i tried making it bigger by using the Move tool but it get pixelated… help. what should i do.

Two possible options:
A. The resolution of the original image is smaller then the new image your trying to paste it too. Make sure the new image is in pixels and not in inches.

B. Have had a problem like this before, try different methods of copy+paste like dragging the layer from the layer panel onto the new image or crop it and copy+paste

I have ads placed on several bulletin boards to teach people webmaster skills like HTML, photoshop, php and more. My question is, do I have to have teacher certification to do this? Am I allowed to use certain words like "HTML Training in 5 days" even though Im not a school? What steps can I make to protect me from litigious action?

Yes, you can do that. It is no different really than a mom who gives piano lessons for a little extra money. As long as you do not misrepresent yourself and are honest about what you can teach, that part of your question is fine. I wouldn’t make promises like "5 days" because some people are really dense and won’t learn that quickly, and they might want their money back on day 6.

You will have to keep records and report what you earn as income and pay taxes on it. If you start making a lot of money, you may need to start thinking about setting up an LLC or something similar.

Im a very early beginner at Photoshop, and have been looking at some lessons online. However when I go to use , for example, the paint brush, the tool doesnt seem to work on my picture. Instead, all I see is a "hand" icon. Whats going on? Its like the picture doesnt want me to select/use a certain tool

There are a number of possible explanations for this.

A begiiner should be working in RGB (colour) mode to allow as many tools as possible to be available for use.

In the Window menu you should select the layer menu and enable it if it not enabled. When you see the layer menu, you could merge all layers down to one layer. (For now you only want one layer to exist, to minimise confusion.)

Thirdly, in Edit, Select, be sure to Unselect All, if it is available.

Also, if you enter text, it creates a new layer which makes most tools inaccessible to the beginner. I recommend do not add in any text yet.

Good luck. You are going to need it. Photoshop 7.0 is very powerful and there is a lot to learn, remember, and understand.

Plenty of effort is needed to achieve interesting proficiency.

Iwould like to have an idea about the basics to learn the Photoshop art.Is there any website or freewares on which Ican depend.
I can make some search but I need some nominations from persons who have had some trials.

Photoshop is an awesome program, but you can also learn a lot by just messing around in it (that’s how you can learn most things). This may be more time consuming but it’s a lot more fun and rewarding to just goof about and see what filter gives what effect etc.
